Overclock geforce 9600gt

can i overclock geforce ASUS EN9600GT/HTDI/512M (memory 900/core 650/shader 1625/bandwidth 57.6 GBps) to (memory 1000/core 720/shader 1800/bandwidth 64 GBps) with my GIGABYTE GA-G965GM-DS2 (Rev. 2.0) motherboard ?

other components -

pentium d 3.0 ghz
2gb ddr2 667 ram
450w psu

Try it and see if it plays graphics demanding games. Try running 3D Mark graphics tests on around 10 loops and see if its stable.

Hmm... overclock a 9600GT to 8800/9800GT OC settings... Interesting. Plan on using RivaTuner for the overclocking, or does ASUS supply their own utility for it? Whatever you do, make sure to monitor the temps and step up the overclock settings gradually. Don't just throw those settings on it and go for it right away.

I think the 9600 has about half the amount of steam processors of 8800/9800 so over clocking it doesn't do much if that's what you're aiming for.
