having trouble unlocking the extra cores on sapphire pure crossfire 790gx mobo and 550 be cpu... when i enable ACC it shows 4 cores is this normal? or does it mean that these are unlocked, when i boot into windows it only shows 2 cores im confused help please

Where do you see the results of the "ACC" setting? CPU-Z?

Where does it say in windows only 2 cores?

Are you looking at the task manager performance tab?

It needs the support in the BIOS. Jetway made that board and mine unlocked months ago. I was the early adapters of the X2 550 and I had the Jetway Ultra 07 6 months before that so everything came together well. Look for the latest BIOS from Sapphire or even write to them. Be forewarned, the support is close to zero and flashing those boards can be very tricky. It could kill your board.

I use two floppies to flash - first contains the DOS boot files and the second contains the BAT, flash EXE and then the BIN file.

Jetway makes Sapphire boards? Yuk.

Run>MSCONFIG>BOOT.INI>Advanced Options

In there there should be a setting for setting number of CPU's.

If 4 is listed in the drop down menu, click it!!!
