If you are not going to add more than 3 RAM sticks (12GB MAX), and you are OK with Flashing the BIOS with the SLI support BIOS from Gigabyte, then go ahead with the UD3R...It has sufficient features for a good overclock...

The UD3R has RAID support.

The storage support for both boards is identical.

Comparison on the Gigabyte web site :)

http://www.gigabyte.us/Products/Mo [...] ,3104,3020

shows these differences:

eSATA: UD4P = 2, UD3R = 0
PCIe: UD4P = 2@16-16 or 3@16-8-8, Ud3R = 2@16-16
Audio: UD4P has a different audio chip, I didn't bother to look it up. You can.
COM port: UD4P = 0, UD3R = 1
Construction: UD4P has "more" features
Memory: UD4P supports faster mem speeds than UD3R, UD3R supports faster speeds than you will use.
