Sabertooth 990fx with fx-6100

hey all yet another question from me 😛

i have recently heard that in order for the asus sabertooth 990fx to work with the bulldozer processors it needs a bios flash, however i do not have an am3 processor to hand to do this 🙁 is there any way to do this with the processor? or do i actually need to do it at all?

You will need that motherboard with a minnimum BIOS version of 0813 if you want native support for that motherboard for BD. If you get that motherboard with a previous BIOS version, you will need a different CPU to upgrade the BIOS.

ok thanks for the quick reply will it say the bios version on the box or anything as its not connected to a system yet?

I'm not too sure, although I doubt it. If you purchase it you can always ask the rep whether it supports BD out of the box, or if it needs a BIOS upgrade.
