Hey I currently have

AMD Phenom II 940 X4 BE 3.0 GHz
ASUS M4A78 PRO AMD 780G SB700
ATI 4850 512
Corsair TX750w PSU
3x Seagate Barracuda 500GB in RAID0
2x2GB OCZ Fatality DDR2 1066 RAM

well yeah and when the AMD800 chipset comes out in 2010 i would like to upgrade to it, but I'm kinda curious,
Will I still be able to use my AM2+ CPU?
How bout my RAM?
Do you think I'll have to reconfigure my RAID or will it still work?
By that time I will have one of the new ATI 5800 series (probably the 5870 or 5870X2)
I would like to upgrade for USB 3.0, and more than one x16 slot ect...
But I don't know if I'll be ready to get rid of my expensive CPU and RAM, then spend like 500$ on a new CPU and DDR3

sorry for all the questions but I don't know how I'll be able to sell any of my old pieces or anything...

For your questions -
1. & 2. It would depend on the mobo you would choose or the mobos that will be released. If they release only AM3/ DDR3 boards, then you are out of luck...You wont be able to reuse your CPU and RAM
3. Moving RAID - If the mobo that you will be upgrading to have the same RAID chip, then it might recognize the RAID...
But better take a backup before you proceed.

As for rest of your requirements and questions, you would have to wait and see...
