Xfx 5850 crossfire xfx 5850 BE

can you crossfire a 5850 black edition with a xfx 5850 regular one? on a asus crosshair formula 4 with 850hx 850watt powersupply with a amd 1090t processor?

I believe you can yes. I would get one of the same make if you can though, they obviously want to be as similar as possible. The only difference between a black edition and standard is the default clock. You might have to overclock your standard card to the speed of the BE before crossfire though.. not sure.

Yes you can.

The faster card will run at the speed of the slower card.

If both cards have adequate cooling, I'd bet you'd be able to use the Overdrive application in the CCC to overclock the slower card to match the speed of the faster card.

My 5850's will make it to 890/1220 just by using the Overdrive application in the CCC.
