Hi :hello:  ,
I'm hoping to build a new machine with following configurations. Do you guys think that this is a good one. Give me some advices regarding the combinations.

Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 / 2.8 GHz
Motherboard : Foxconn G31mx-K, 1333(oc)/1066/800 MHz (FSB) ,Dual channel DDR2 800/667 x 2 DIMMs, Max 4GB
Ram : 2GB 800MHz Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G
Harddisk : MAXTOR 250GB SATA 5400RPM 2MB

Can you guys please tell me whether this motherboard can generate best of the Processor and Ram power. If this motherboard is not suite or bad can you propose me a motherboard which is cheap and archive best performance.

Thanks & Regards,
Chinthaka.

Where are you?

How will you be using this machine?

What OS?

In a general way, you would be better off lowering the processor to perhaps an E5300 and upgrading the motherboard to a G43/P43

A similar priced option would be an AMD 7750 and 780G motherboard.

Generally speaking, Western Digital is the best HD brand currently, followed by Seagate, but I have no objection to another brand if the price is right for you.
