1.Saves money on the LCD purchase!
2.Its just as nice gaming as a 24"...
3.How much more will you have to spend on the 24" COMBINED! with getting a more expensive gpu so you know it can handle the higher resolution
I find a 22" at 1680x1050 or the 1600x1200 perfect monitors for gaming...you can save a decent amount with the resolution and its not a huge compromise....
LG makes goooood ***....my house is full of LG products....
LG Microwave
LG 22"
LG 47"
LG 53"
and an LG fridge...but it was a pos so its gone
Anyways..LG makes great monitors and tvs in my opinion...iv spent hours and hours gaming on all three of the monitors/tvs and have had no problems and im 100% satisfied with the quality...
I also just want to chime in! i would be SO VERY interested in buying your 8800gts! you have no idea how much i need a secondary gpu right now could you pm me if your interested? i believe i can afford it
If you would like my opinion on a gpu at the res of the 22" check out this thread as the guy is looking to do just about the same upgrade as you
The LG looks like a really nice unit and they make GREAT products....i did get my 22" lg for free but if i had the chance i would still prefer a 1680x1050 monitor and i would gladly buy that exact lg you linked to...
If you think you would prefer the larger monitor go ahead...albeit you would have a longer lifespan on your graphics card with a lower 1680x1050 resolution..
I believe Jaysin is somewhat right...i would prefer to surf the web and do my other non related gaming tasks with a larger resolution but its not "much better" at gaming period...

A higher resolution monitor and a higher end graphics card would get quite a bit more expensive. Although, the extra space would be great for coding... I dunno, either way it is a hige upgrade over my 15"
Go for the 1680x1050 and you save money...you lose nothing in gaming and save 100-15$ for just a small loss in screen real estate...and go with the LG you posted earlier!
It should save you quite a bit on the gpu and with hundreds of less pixels to power you gpu will of course as i said before last you quite a bit longer....
Get a 275 or a 4890...if you can get a good deal on a 285 get that and you will be covered until DX11 comes
BTW would you be interested in selling that 8800gts of yours? sorry i keep mentioning it but i think you might have missed it and im reaaalllyyy interested

Yeah, from what I have seen, a single 260 is about the same as a pair of 512 GTS's in SLI. So I would believe that the 275 would be at least twice the performance of a single 8800GTS 512.
If I was in the mood to upgrade, I think the 275 would be what I would put my money on, if I had the monitor to go with it. Currently I just use a 19" with 1280x1024, and my old BFG 8800GTS 512 OC is holding up fine for my res.
