Hello, so I'm not very knowledgeable at all when it comes to the more advanced components of computers. While recieving some graphics assistance, I was notified I can update my BIOS and upgrade my processor. How would I go about doing this? This is completely foreign to me and I'm clueless as to where to start.

eMachines ET1161-07
AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 4050e 2.10Ghz
3.0 GB Ram
32 Bit operating system.

I also have a DYNEX Model: DX-400WPS Power Supply.

any help would be very much appreciated!

Unless you have a need for a faster cpu, I would do nothing.

The BIOS is some firmware that controls your PC. It starts out supporting a number of processors. Over time, support for some newer processors may be added.

Updating the bios may be a risky business. A failed or interrupted update can leave your motherboard permanently unusable.
It should only be done to resolve a problem that you need to fix.

This sounds like a pc that is used for internet and simple desktop usage. If you want more performance, look into replacing your hard drive with a SSD. Kingston has some kits for that purpose if your hard drive needs are modest.
