Hello all, I tried using CPUID monitor, Coretemp, Everest, etc and none of those programs can see my core temp. I have a Phenom II x2 550 which I had unlocked the 2 cores. I am able to see the cpu temp in the bios but that is about it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

According to X-bit Labs "unlocking blocked cores sets processor thermal diodes out of service" on the x2 550.

Tried AMD Overdrive already, it reads -256 C on all four cores, heh. Just hard for me to over clock when I can't get an accurate core temp reading. Any suggestions?

+1 for what easymoney9 pointed out...
If you unlock all the cores, it sets the processors thermal diode out of service...

Use speedfan, it's working on my unlocked 550.

Temp1: appears to be the motherboard
Temp2: appears to be the CPU
Temp3: is at a worrying 79-80 oC all the time, so I'm not sure what that's reporting
Core:0 oC

Let me know what you Temp3 is.

Edit: MB is a Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P & 4Gb G.Skill RAM.

Using SpeedFan 4.39, temps read CPU 33-35 *C and System 35*C. Aux is at 33-35 *C and Core is 0 *C.
Mobo: Asrock M3A790GXH/128M
CPU: AMD 550 BE 4 cores unlocked and running at 3255 MHz
Memory: 2 x 1gb Patriot memory 1600mhz PDC32G1600EKJ
2 x 1gb OCZ memory 1600mhz OCZ3P1600LV1G
CPU cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 with 2 OEM 120mm V8 fans attached and running full speed. 70cfm each
Case: Thermaltake M9 with only upper plate replaced with a Sony DVD dual-layer writer
Case fans:
Front:2 120mm OEM Thermaltake Smartfans on the front of the case
Side: 1 OEM 120mm Thermaltake smartfan on lower side of clear panel (barely fits next to the Hyper 212).
Rear: 1 Coolermaster OEM 70cfm 120mm fan.
GPU: Primary: Powercolor 4850 at OEM settings
Secondary: Sapphire 4830 at OEM settings. Crossfired
PSU: A-Power 800watt (had it for 2 months and no problems except that it didn't seem to like me plugging in another
Powercolor 4830 video card in)

Ambient Room temp: ~23*C or 73 *F

Running Windows 7RC build 7100

Edit: ran AMD OverDrive Utility for stability test on all options for 8min. CPU at 100%, got following from Speedfan
Peaks
System: 37*C
CPU: 41*C
AUX:41*C
Core: 0*C (probably no sensor on this)
