What motherboard? The BIOS has to be specifically for your motherboard; otherwise you might end up with a motherboard that will no longer POST.

Your motherboard's BIOS version dated January 28, 2003 is VA84510A.86A.0006.P02.0301280655. The latest one available for that motherboard dated May 4, 2006 is VA84510A.86A.0056.P20.0605040337. According to the release notice, what issue needs fixing?

The Intel Express BIOS Update utility is the easiest way to update the BIOS, but it also is the most risky. I had to RMA a DG965RY after using it.

As Shadow703793 said, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

I doubt that flashing the BIOS will make the system faster. Based on the BIOS, you obviously have a very old system and you probably have installed an anti-virus and a bunch of other programs that all require memory, CPU time, etc. Can you provide a list of components for your system, e.g., CPU, memory, etc.?

What CPU? According to CPU-Z, is it running at the correct speed? I can see that you had enough free memory when you took the above values, but what are they when the system is slow?
