Depending on a lot of factors (stepping, VID, case, cooling), upper range of Q6600 is 3.4 GHz to (rarely) 3.8 GHz.

You are hitting 3.4 GHz. with a Q8200. The system architectural improvements of the Q8200 will just about balance out any potentially higher speed of the Q6600.

If you have a Q6600 lying around, you can try it, but it's not worth buying one.

is your problem that your hyperX ddr2 is holding back your overclock?

If so then turn down the memory-FSB clock ratio. You are probably trying to clock your memory too high, or alternatively, turn up the voltage on the memory (this might void your warrantee though)

If that's not the problem, then you have run into a problem with the Q8200. The Q8xxx series processors are notorious for not being good overclockers, because of their low multipliers and high stock FSBs. You can't really get them to clock that high because you'll hit the maximum FSB clock and the multiplier doesn't get you that far. If this is the case, sorry but you can't do anything about it.
