I have just ungraded new ram (2g, 2x1g) into my 3 year old computer. But when i try to boot the computer, nothing happens. Nothing shows up on the screen, but the computer is running, and theres this beeping sound. I put my old ram in, and it works perfectly. I have tried to mix up the rams, all kinds of things, but nothing seems to happen.

system:

computer: dell vestro 200

cpu:1.80 gigahertz Intel Core Duo
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache

motherboard: Dell Inc. 0CU409

RAM(before):1g(2x.5g)

graphics: geforce 9500(recently upgraded)

Looks like you have RAM above 1.8v. Dell PCs will usually not work with anything higher than 1.8v.

have u default the bios, may be u just take out the battery and try install the new ram,by theway what the type new RAm using.

Looks like you have RAM above 1.8v. Dell PCs will usually not work with anything higher than 1.8v.
