I’ve currently got the AMD 955 C2 running at 3.41Ghz and 1.250v and stock bus and HT speeds with a Zalman CNPS9900 copper heatsink. Idle sits right in the area of 27-31 degrees celcius at idle and under load in Prime95 it will max out around 40-42 degrees celcius. I’ve had it up to 3.8Ghz at 1.4v stable with both the HT and bus at stock frequency and voltage. If I tried to increase the HT link at all past the 2000Mhz speed the PC would not boot and I would get just a black screen. With the 3.8Ghz settings it would idle around 38 degrees celcius and max out around 55 degrees celcius. I’m considering upgrading to the 1090t and am curious as to what you all would recommend for a heatsink for that CPU. I would be going for an OC of around 4Ghz and am not sure if the Zalman 9900 would hold up to that kind of an OC.

Thanks for the help!

@ OP your current chip- 955 should hit 4GHZ with no problem so obviously you not doing it the right way,would suggest using AMD overdrive as for the cooler..you mention H50 which it will give you as much performance as top rated air heat sink and if you willing to spend few extra $ you may want to look in to RASA;

I don't think there is anything that even comes close to right now (price/performance)
we don't usually recommend LC kits but this one is worth mentioning
