There are 2 computers that I can not decide between. One is 6 ram with a GMA 3100 processor while the other is 4 ram with a nicer GMA 4500x processor. Should I sacrafice the ram for the better GPU?
(both are 64 bit Vista)

For simple tasks even 4 gigs are more than enough.
Since you do not game there is nothing wrong going with IGP's.

Both are cr@p. Get a REAL GPU if you plan to game. Any thing above a 4650 is good.

+1^ if u want to game then consider a better GPU.
About 4GB vs 6GB,well i think 4GB can handle things fine for now

4GB is enough RAM.Even that much is not used in most cases.

As said, Both the IGP's are crap.They can't even play a 3 year old game on least settings.

+1, Neither of those GPU's are worth anything anyhow, anything intel graphics is crap, if you want to game you need something from ATI or Nvidia in there. 4GB is fine for now, get the 4GB and spend the extra money on a real GPU.

@OP: Mind listing full specs and budget? By the look of it you seem to be buying something from Dell/HP/Acer,etc. Go DIY!

i really don't need to game i just need to use this for simple tasks but since 4gb is fine i guess i will stick to that one.
