Which ddr2 would be faster (if any) with a amd x2 4200+: (little to no ocing, ignore the price, i just want to know about speed)
ocz platinum 800 at 4-4-4-12 or ocz reaper 1066 at 5-5-5-18
If i upgraded to an amd am3 x2 250, would the above answer change? Thanks

With pretty much every game, memory speed isn't going to get you more FPS. But the 1066 might help in applications that are memory intensive and it would also help with multitasking.
DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 and 1066 5-5-5-18 are basically the same memory. The 1066 is overclocked to have higher bandwidth, and to do that they have to loosen timings to cas 5 from cas 4. Usually the 1066 isn't much more expensive too, so I'd go with that. But if you can find some reasonably priced ddr2 1066 at cas 4 timings (like 4-4-4-12 or something) that would be best, assuming they don't rip you with the price.

To my knowledge an AMD dual core will not run any memory at @1066, maybe OCing the FSB but doubtful, I could only get to @920 with 8500 Reapers and a 5400 BE, but the timings I used where 4-4-4-12. So you can go with which ever you like best or by price.
PS: Check to make sure your MoBo can serve-up the proper voltage.
