Hi I am having a problem and was wondering what could be causing it...

when my computer starts, it doesnt pick up the harddrive, unless I first enter the bios.
I dont need to do anything in the bios, just enter it, thats all. I can quit straight away and it then picks up the harddrive immediately with out even a problem.

what could possibly be causing this?

Sounds like your MB is booting faster than the HDD can spin up and be recognized, look for a setting in the BIOS to turn on a delay to allow it to spin up...

Hope this helps.

If the main board is few years old, replace the battery. Also update the bios.
