Freezing in game

Hello,
I am having a problem with freezing in game.
This is my first build and I am fairly new at overclocking. I have been running a i7 920 at 3.8ghz for about 6 months on a liquid cooled system with no problems until recently. My temps run at 22-34c at idle and under 64c at anytime under load depending on ambient temps. Passes testing with intel burn test at max, mem test, and evga OC scanner video test, sisoft sandra, and OCCT.
Bios: cpu clock 19x
host freq 200
mem 2:8 @ 1603
Timings 8 8 8 24 1t
voltages dimm 1.65
CPU Vcore 1.4265
qpi pll vcore 1.3
System:
Processor: i7 920
MB evga x58 e757
Video evga gtx 280
Mem OCZ 1600 gold
HD 150 valociraptor
640 wd black cavier
OS windows7

Any ideas on why I would be having a freezing problem in game? Everything else runs fine. Game freezes computer 1 to 30 mins into gameplay and I have to cold boot the system. I have been told maybe it could be the memory I'm using.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Stan

  1. Whats the power supply and it's specs? And is your ram rated to run 1t? Sometimes the stability/benches miss things, I had problems with a few computers in the past with freezing in games. Most of the time it turns out to be improperly setup ram, or the motherboard is having a hard time at the speed the ram is running.
  2. I have a 850w abs Dark Beret power supply. I dropped the cpu clock multiplyer to 19x and raised the host freq to 200, set the mem freq to 2:8 to give me 1603 on my ram. this is as close as I can get to the 1600 rating on my ram. I have heard there are other sticks of ram that work better with overclocking ie. crucial tracer etc. OZC says to run a 8 8 8 24 1t timing.

  4. Try running Prime95 for at least 5 hours, its at 5 hours that it starts getting into the really heavy stuff.

    Also, try running Memtest,
