Hey guys

Well i got my new replacement PSU today. and i think all is well.

well i looked in the bios and it said that the +5.0v was running at 5.2V, is this normal? and does it pose any threat?

here is a screen print of my comp at idle. using HWmonitor, well on bios it says the CPU is running at 61 degrees......... just look at the link and see for yourself..... weird.... why is that and what one should i go by?

here is another link of CPU-Z

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums [...] ptest2.jpg

now the Vcore goes from that screen print voltage to 1.36V

and my PSU is blowing quite hot air out the back but the rest of the PSU seems to be really cool all over.

Is this a normal setup?

If not how can i improve it?

if you need anymore information. please let me know

Kind Regards

Sean

According to ATX specifications, PSU outputs need to be +/- 5%. So your 5 volt output is in tolerance.

I don't know about AMD CPU's, but a 60 C. idle seems pretty high.

yeah i was thinking the same also..... tis a little high for it to be idle but upon research it seems "the norm" temp for a 100% stock Phenom.

anyone else got a 9950 phenom here?

if so could you tell me ur idle/load temps.

what about the hot air out of the PSU, is that healthy?

The program you're using could be giving you some weird readings. Try a program like CoreTemp to confirm those temps.

aint that for intel CPU's?

ok scrap what i just said. lol well on coretemp its the same reading as HWmonitor and the bios now reads 51 degrees so i guess all is well on that part.

Now any news about hot air coming out the back of the PSU, is this normal?

Kind Regards

Yeah my PSU blows out fairly warm air as well. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but you can always try to add another fan in your case for pretty cheap.

well its on the back of the PSU not an internal problem, is that the same for you, like if you touch the back of the PSU where the hot air is coming out is the metal hot enough to give you a slight tingly burning sensation, nothing major.

no mine feels lukewarm. You might want to use a program like speedfan and get the temperature readings of your case/system. You might have an airflow problem.

Reply to thefox14

hmmm well its abit hotter then luke warm.... speed fan said everthing was kool. hmmmmmm

well then i wouldn't worry about it at all. But if something funky ever happens in your computer though, you'll know where to start.

Software voltage readings should never be trusted. Use a DMM.
