BFG's lifetime warranty still applies even when using aftermarket cooling solutions or overclocking your card. I'd say the 20#'s is worth it for that peace of mind alone.

BFG does not cover ocing or heatsink removal. XFX and evga are the only ones that do.

I'm sorry, I didn't know BFG's warranty didn't cover those conditions. It's been 2 years or so since my brother RMA'd his 6600GT cards to BFG, and they covered his despite them having been overclocked. I guess their warranty has changed...

It is unfortunate that it did as did evga. You have to be careful now with evga. Not all their cards are lifetime anymore.

well considering asus advertises its card along with the following statesments:

• ASUS Gamer OSD: Real-time overclocking, benchmarking and video capturing in any PC game!

• ASUS Smart Doctor: Your intelligent hardware protection and overclocking tool.

i would have thought its warranty covered oc the card, so whats your stance people?

The warranty will cover the OC if it says it does. The Asus 4890 with the voltage tweak is supposed to cover OC'ing. I don't know how it is with the 275's, but I personally have never had a problem while RMA'ing a BFG.

Chef...iv got to ask what are the chances of a company being able to tell your card was overclocked or that the overclock resulted in the failure?

You should be fine unless you screw it up while overclocking. I still stick with companies that cover it just in case. They can always say you overclocked it and it is not covered under warranty and you are screwed. They do not have to prove it.

Maybe spend $40 dollars more instead of $20 and buy an XFX card? LOL

Reply to RazberyBandit

The good thing about xfx is if you sell it the person you sell it to is covered. You also get phone support and great customer support.

Reply to chef7734

Agreed. Also, eVGA has a great support staff on duty 24/7. Those two companies are tops in my book, not just because of the warranties they offer, but the additional support. Oh, and what you said about eVGA not covering all their products with the lifetime warranty any longer - tis true, but you have to know how to spot the ones that are and are not. -AR suffixed cards are lifetime, -TR suffixed cards are 1-year.

Reply to RazberyBandit

here is the list of what evga supports.
* Lifetime: The EVGA limited lifetime warranty is only eligible for part numbers ending in:
-A1, -A2, -A3, -A4, -AR, -AX, -CR, -CX, -DX, -FR, -FX, -SG, -SX.

* 1+2: EVGA 1 + 2 limited warranty only eligible for part numbers ending in:
-K1, -KR.

* 1+1: EVGA 1 + 1 limited warranty only eligible for part numbers ending in:
-LA, -LE, -LR, -LX, -T1, -TR, -TX.
Evga is also great cs.

And of those suffixes, only -AR and -TR currently apply to video cards ;)

One key thing about ASUS Europe is their warranty program, where you are actually directed to first take it in for service at the place of purchase or an approved service agent, if one is available. Only after that process do they accept RMA's, however their process is a little different... They ship replacement products to you first and ask that the "defective" item be returned to them for testing. If it turns out during their testing that the problem was caused by anything other than a manufacturer defect, you will be charged full price for the replacement card as well as a "Service Fee" for the inspection of the card you sent them.

Nice huh? Full details here: http://support.asus.com/repair/rep [...] uage=en-us
