I baught by mistake an Nvidia "Palit (the name of the manufacturer) 9600 smart 1GB 256 Bit" his connections are: Dual-link DVI, Tv-Out.
My question is: is it worth to me to change it to a "Gigabyte 9600GT 512MB 256 Bit"? and in general what diffrenece does the GT makes?
Ohh and i forgot to mention it: i kind of got ripped of by the store who sold me the "Palit" instead of the card described in the box they gave me a "Palit 9600 GSO 512 MB". (I found it out by using EVEREST). So before going and yelling at them I want to know what is the difference between the one ON the box and the one IN the box.
Thank you.

A GT adds the same thing to a GPU that it does to a sports car, There are some enhancements in the GT version of the product usually hese are faster clocks better shader model support SLi or Crossfire support etc in one way a GT GPU is better but only if u hav got big bucks for it either way u can upgrade ur own ride and can compete a GT overclock that 9600 and u r on ur way.......BTW it is better to buy from GIGABYTE or SPARKLE.......hope u got ur answer
main differences between 9600gso and 9600gt
9600gso 48 shaders 192 bit memory path
9600gt 64 shaders 256 bit memory path
the 9600gt will be faster than the gso but if your going to upgrade step into a gts250 (128 shaders) its far superior to either and not that much more expensive.

dunno i've been really happy with xfx and evga.
Buying the wrong version (GT vs. GSO) was your mistake, but getting a 512MB card instead of the 1GB card was clearly a mistake on their part. If you bought it from an actual walk-in store, then you should have no problems exchanging for a 9600GT.
My advice is to simply buy a 9600GT 512MB as I do not think the extra 512MB can be effectively used by the 9600GT since it is "somewhat slow". It's a great mainstream / value card, (I have one in my HTPC), but I just don't think it is fast enough to take advantage of the extra RAM.
