So, I have been looking for an external hard drive that I can just hook up to my router then use to back up both my desktop and laptop via a network connection, though I am having a really hard time doing this since I know very little about them. I am hoping to find something that has about 1 tb of storage (my laptop only has 250gb and my pc 500gb) and that will allow me to back up two different computers on it, so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Hi there,

Also take a look at D-Links 2 Drive NAS units. The DNS-321 1TB would be the right size, not the frills that the DNS 323 has.

Here is the Spec sheet for it. http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DNS-321-1TB

They take 1 or 2 HDD's, you choose, the make and size, and can be configured as Simple Disks, or Dynamic Disks using JBOD, RAID, or Mirror.
Connects to you LAN Ethernet Cable off your Router. Anyone can access the data.
