Error on drive after update xp system crash

installed xp pro updating then after update it reboots, no os found after, then trying to reinstallwith cd it says error on drive and/ or cd damage, cd is fine also has erroron drive trying to install ubuntu 11

I would definitely replace the hard drive.

You could use Hyrens Boot Cd to completely wipe and start again...

Do you have your things saved somewhere else? (backup I mean)
It gives error on drive while trying to boot the cd, or can you reach the recovery console?
If so, do a format and a clean install.


If not, check the hard drive on another computer, and format the whole partition/drive. And then try a clean install.
