I want to know everyone's temps running a stock q9550 with a Freezer 7 Pro using Prime95. Please post your temps. Mines is 55 degrees at max load after about 30 minutes of testing. Does this mean that I installed the CPU cooler correctly? I mean if I just let it hang and push it off just a little would the temps increase because of bad cooling since it would be not mounted correctly if pushed off just a little? Like by how much? Thanks.

Your 9550 will operate fine up to about 65 celcius. I would leave the freezer pro alone; you're ok.

Someone told me that it should only be about 45 at stock. And my system temp shows 48 in bios, is this OK also?

what temp program are you using?

coretemp and realtemp are so far the only accurate one's.

I live in Texas, and it's hot down here. If your room temp is high, then your cpu may run a little higher than whoever you're referencing. A 3 degree variance is nothing to worry about. Check Intel specs for your cpu and you'll see your temps are about average. I had on old p4 northwood that overheated twice to 80 celcius, which causes windows to crash. I gave it to a friend, and that cpu has outlasted 2 motherboards.
