I have an e6700 that i am planning to overclock once i buy a new mobo, most likely the asus p5q deluxe. Right now i am running on an intel board with 2 gig of ddr2 800 crucial ram 1.7v. This ram is QVL for the intel board since they are notorious for be quite picky.

My goal is to improve cpu performance by overclocking from 2.66ghz to 3.6ghz and if i can i would like to be able to do it with the same crucial ram that i have now. After doing some research and talking to friends, the ddr2 800 should be sufficient for the overclock speed i wish to attain counting some inefficiency and the bottleneck whichs houldnt be hit. Now, since this ddr2 800 ram does all of this, i shouldnt have to worry about the ram since i don't need to overclock it correct? It should be tuned down anyways since the fsb is 1066 and everything is running as it should.

input?
