Hi

Trying to attach a third monitor to my pc... in addition to the LG L226WTQ and a Benq FP937s.

I have one of these: BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

on one of these: Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Would like to run a second Benq FP937s properly if possible.

Given the x4 limitation on the 2nd PCI-e slot what card would be worth buying to add to the system? Not another 880 GTX I assume?

x4? I'm not sure if there's any PCIe slot with the x4 specification, but I might be wrong.

I think your best bet is to upgrade your card, if it's within your budget. You can use a DVI splitter to plug two monitors into one port.

hes saying the board supports SLI but the second pci-e slot is 4x.. i believe

I was never fond of mixing and matching memory or video cards.

but maybe I have OCD :)

I would get an Nvidia card just to avoid driver conflict issues.
It does not have to be a fast gaming card unless that's what you're doing with it, (not SLI though). The 4x limitation means another 8800GTX would be a waste of $$$.
