Hi, i need some help. Have not built a computer in ages and am a little out-of-date with all the connection advancements and whatnot. The budget is around $700 and i was just wonder if everything is compatible with each other. I did some research and think i got most of it but don't want to take a chance. Any suggestions/warnings/problems would be greatly appreciated. The shopping was done at newegg (item #s) Thanks

Yup I would say it's been awhile. That build looks so 2005. Ok, let's bring you into 2009. This is going to cost a few more dollars but it's going to be the basic 2009 build.
1) You want a P45 or P43 for that cpu...P43 will do just fine.
2) No more EIDE...they are prehistoric and becoming extinct, not to mention they block air flow and are a pain in the arse.
3) That psu is so not good. In fact it shouldn't even be sold....it's that bad.
4) gts 250's are the new 9800gtx. They use less power, produce less heat, and are upgraded with all the latest goodies.
5) 4 gigs (2 x 2 gigs) is standard issue these days. 2 gigs just doesn't cut it anymore.
ok, put this together with that cpu, HD, case, and monitor you have up there and your good to go.
btw, nice choice with that E7400! It's a nice one and a great deal
I also like that choice of monitor...it's not the usual 1440 x 900 that usually comes with a 19". You get the resolution of of a 22" on a smaller screen.
