Hi Forums,

I just got some new RAM, since my old ram kept breaking, now I got some nice Patriot dimms.
http://www.advantionline.com/Patriot-Viper-Xtreme-4GB-2-x-2GB-PC3-PC3-16000-DDR3-2000-MHZ-9-10-9-27-Dual-Channel-Kit.html
Patriot Viper Xtreme 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC3 PC3 16000 DDR3 2000 MHZ 9-10-9-27 Dual Channel Kit

And my motherboard:
ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131654

Now when I plugged this new RAM in, it defaulted to 1067Mhz (or something close to that). I have tried many things in order to get it to run at its needed 2000Mhz, but without succes.

Now I've taken the option of using RAM speed option in BIOS under AITweaker, but the highest setting it gives me is 1600Mhz... :pfff:

So, can you guys help me out with getting this to run nicely? I do not mind a bit of CPU OCing if necessary, (DOCP didn't work though).

Thanks already,

Your board may not support nativily higher than 1600Mhz and you may need to OC the CPU to get 2000Mhz. But you wont notice a difference between 1600 and 2000. You may want to look at some overclocking guides, as overclocking the will require voltages changes which you amy or may not be comfortable with.

The board does support it, but it does indeed require overclocking.

Now the problem is that I have tried this through DOCP mode, but it never worked.... I get a failed OC and have to revert back to stock in order to boot again... :pfff:
