4850 x3 or 4890 x2

Okay my 4870 just broke and I need a replacement.
My budget is approximately $280 and I debating between a 4850 x2 or 4890.
I know a 4850 x2 basically out performs the 4890 in every benchmark, but I also want to be able to upgrade my rig in four or so months again, and after hearing about the 4850 x2's handful of driver problems that were worked out by ATI later, I am hesitant to go quad-fire and buy another 4850 x2 not to mention the power it would require.
With a 4890 I could easily crossfire one later on. I have also thought of adding another 4850 instead of a 4850 x2 because I know tri-fire is a lot more viable than quad-fire.
So my question is this: 3 4850's or 2 4890's.
Btw I play on a 1080p monitor but I am looking to upgrade to a higher resolution in the future possibly 2560 × 1600

Cuz it looks freaking SEXY. But yeah, way better ways to spend your money. That and the response time on a monitor that size arent anywhere near as good as a gaming monitor. The best ive ever seen had a 5ms response rate.
Get a 4890 and OC it

can i ask you a question in regrades to to what it says under your pic... it says your pc crashes while unraring crysis... that means that you pirate games because it SHOULD say it crashes when installing crysis off the cd or something equally dumb. but you said unraring.... you damn dirty game pirate!
I copy all of my game titles over onto a harddrive into rar archives...to archive them 
im anti-cd
