Why Does My Motherboard Sometimes Smoke?

I recently got a brand new Intel motherboard, and when I try to boot with it, sometimes smoke comes out. Any advice?

That is not good at all and it could be shorting out or an indication of a hot spot on the bard. What else could it be, does it crash or lock up and last become very slow? Do applications randomly crash with no warning or indication? What board is it and you need to look in to getting an RMA just in case fast.

Isn't that a fire hazard?
You need to check specifically from where the smoke comes out.
