Hi,

Recently I have noticed that the logo LED on the side of my X-Fi soundcard is only 30-40% of the normal level. At power on it is at full level for a moment or two and then dips. The front panel that is connected to the sound card also only works as a headphone passthrough, none of the button controls function and they are also dimly lit. The sound card however functions completely normally. I have checked all cables and reinstalled the drivers.

I run a 4850 crossfire set up with the 630W PSU in this review.

Any ideas?

What kind of PSU? How many cards in the CrossFire setup? Perhaps your PSU is simply not providing enough juice.

so you have a creative labs product failing thats NOT caused by a driver issue?

let me write this one on the calendar

Edit: sorry to not be of help..
maybe try another slot.. try removing card uninstalling drivers and reinstalling card and drivers?

doubt its a power issue.

If there was a low voltage issue, you would have a lot more problems than the LED lights on the soundcard. Why are there lights on a soundcard anyhow? It's inside the case.
How old is the equipment. It's more likely that the LEDs are cheap and are failing. Or something is loose.

Well I have since removed the second card and it is still an issue so it can't be power. I'll try cleaning the contacts and see if thats the issue.
