So as this post suggests I have never overclocked before or even attempted so I am going to need you guys to hold my hand throughout the process.

System specs:

i7-950 w/ Cooler Master v8 cooler
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB
Radeon HD5850
Samsung Spinpoint F3 500gb
Thermaltake TR2 W0388RU 600W
Cooler Master Storm Scout case

I have downloaded Prime95, CPUID, and Core Temp.

It appears my cores idle around 29-34C while after having Prime95 running for an hour the high temps under full load were 64-67C.

I am pretty much looking to push it as far as I can under safe temps.

All help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Anyone? I am wanting a stable 4ghz overlclock. Does anyone with a similiar system have some bios settings they could post that could help get me started?

Hi again.

1- You need a good cooler, not a cooler that looks good but not performs well.
2- Do you have overclocking idea? or you don't know anything about OC.

For whatever reason my cores now idle at 27-32 C and under full load they top out at 60-62 C.

One more thing, the full load temps of 60-62C are while I'm using the Easytune6 quick overclock utility that has it to 3.68ghz.

Uninstall EasyTune, start to use the BIOS. And you need 1st slow down your load temps before go up.
