I know i've been posting like 3 threads about this but this is the last one, decided to go with a Fan Heatsink instead of Liquid Cooling,so i've narrowed it down to these 2...
I would like some advice as to which one to buy...
(Trying to O.C. my Phenom ii x4 965 to 4.0ghz)

The Dark Knight is not such a good choice.Ypu also have many more options:

Scythe Mugen 2(when it becomes available)

Xigmatek Balder

Corsair A70

Tuniq Tower(a bit on the expensive side because you need extra fans)

Zalman CNPS10X Performa

My choices out of these would be,for overall the Mugen 2,for bang for buck the Hyper 212 and for ram clearance either the 212 or the A70.

I was looking at the Scythe Mugen 2 but i don't think my case is big enough...my case is only 6inches deep and i might have issues with my PSU being so close to it.
What would you reccomend thas a step up from the A70?

Can you push/pull on all of the ones you listed, doesn't seem like the Tuniq Tower can.
And could you list those in order from best to not so good, trying to get the most out of my money.
Thankyou

Well the hyper 212+ is your best bet. I mean it's short to fit most Midtowers, and also the Hyper 212+ is really cheap.

I wouldn't suggest getting off newegg, they rip you off with shipping. Go with Amazon. 2$ off newegg price, plus free shipping.

Another thing I'd just say about the clearance ONLY get the Hyper 212+ if your case has 6.5inches of clearance. At least. Based off this of course.

As you can see the HSF is 6.3inches w/o the bracket, and plus the bracket it'd probably be 6.5. So just be sure.

Actually, the 212+ and DK offer similar performance. The 212+ is more popular because it is less expensive.

I think it would "just" fit...i think the heatsink would be about 2-3mm away from the PSU it's very tight...does that matter?

Wait how would it be that close? Your PSU is bottom mounted.

I think it's a toss up between the Scythe MUGEN-2 and the CorsairA70 both give great bang for their buck.
What do you guys think?

No it is top mounted :(  I think i might have some more leverage once i take out the H50 but i just can't tell for sure right now...better to buy it and see if it fits and if it doesn't just return it.

No,no read the post a lil up i said it was toss up bettwen the 2 i'm intrested in.
I have a Asetek H50 which isn't doing so well so i'm going to swap it out for a new Heatsink. It's like a no name company stole corsairs blueprints of it and tryed to make it but it fails so now i must buy a new one.

Ok well.... I still think the Hyper 212+ is the best bet. Mainly because the Scythe and A70 perform only a little better than the Hyper 212+. Not worth the extra 10$-30$.

Well it depends, i'm not sure if you can, I'm assuming you'll have to get some brackets. According to the review, you'll get a single fan... so... yeah..

Yah i saw some pics of people havng 2 fans with it....theirs 8 brackets that come with it you just have to get the fans which is perfect because i was going to order 2 Blue Led 2000RPM fans. The one on newegg doesn't have any fans just the heatsink only.Think i might go with Tigerdirect though it's 4 dollars cheaper there.

The thing about the Frio is it is REALLY loud. However if you don't care, then the cooling power is amazing.

Really sucks my H50 didn't turn out the way it should have,i've read that the temps from the H50 are close to the same as the best air coolers.Anyway

Thankyou

I'm going to go with the Thermaltake Frio which is listed at $58 and i believe is much better than the Hyper 212+.If my fears becomes true and the Thermaltake Frio cannot fit, then i will go for the Hyper 212+.

^ Good choice, IMO dual fan is only worth it with major OC's and the small temp changes make the difference. The extra, lets say Scythe Slipstream 1600rpm 120mm fan, only decreases the Hyper 212+'s temps by 2-4 degrees, sure it makes the difference but only in the major OC's.

Right now i'm between the 60c's-65c's with my current cooler so every bit will be accounted for, espisally with a 125watt chip.

I put a 212+ on last night. As for the RAM clearance, I had room. Even if the RAM was higher, you have some play with the fan in terms of how far above the RAM it will sit. It just snaps on, no pre-made holes or anything like that to attach to.

Pretty nice product for the price. I am happy for sure.
