New pc - What to install

I just recently got a second pc. What are the very basics to install? I haven't done this in awhile so can't remember for sure. Can someone please help? I will be using this for just about everything(from work to games)

You need a firewall and an antivirus as soon as possible , and preferably before you go online .

If you cant afford to pay for these things then
Comodo firewall is free and very good

AVAST , Antivir and AVG are all free antivirus program .
