the heatsink i recieved isn't the same as the manual shows... i have tried to install it and when i try to click it into place it feels like there is too much pressure and its going to break. could anyone help me with this?

Wouldn't surprise me if AMD's manuals are all the same and show the same heat sink while they have 2 different ones that I know of. I thought mine was going to break too, you just need to force the lever.

if it breaks because of the heatsink is that under warranty?
