I recently got a new notebook. My download speed has been nothing compared to what it was though. I should probably mention that I'm not an idiot. I'm using the same exact internet connection. I'm sitting in the same exact spot I did with my old notebook. There definitely is a problem somewhere.
I remember one time with my old notebook, my friend and I were downloading a game. My friend was getting over 80 kB/s, but I was struggling to get 10. I browsed around online and found this http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008 [...] ion-limit/ . At the time, that notebook had Vista SP1. So I used the patched tcpip.sys and the Readyboost automated program, and things seemed to really improve. Eventually I installed SP2 on that notebook. Obviously I thought I just needed to do this again, but it says it's not needed for SP2, which this notebook obviously has.
So now I'm lost. I have no idea what the problem might be, and no idea how to get my download speed back to what it should be. Even Youtube videos take at least five minutes to load. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
