Hi
I am about to get a q9550 processor(quad core, 2.8 ghz). I have a 500 watt psu, an e4300(core2duo, 1.8 ghz), 4 gb corsair xms2 ram(800mhz) and an xfx gts 250 graphics card. Will my psu be sufficient to support the upgrade to q9550? The psu can manage my current config.

Input:
voltage-100-120Vac/200-240Vac
frequency-50-60Hz
Input current-10A/5A

Output:
30A(+3.3V) and 28A(+5V) combined=165W
17A(+12V1) and 15A(+12V2) combined=384W
0.3A(-12V)=3.6W
2.0A(+5Vsb)=10W

Total maximum output=500W

All output except the 3.6W have reg=+/-5%
3.6 W have reg=+/-10%

Your components aren't really power hungry so you should be OK.

If you have room in your budget I'd recommend a good quality PSU such as Corsair VX450.

Btw is the intel 35 EC motherboard good? It is for the q9550 processor.
I don't know the full name of it.

Intel mobos are very good, though not always best for OCing.
