I'm not getting any display over DVI, S-Video is fine. Flashed to latest BIOS. I've tried known working monitors & cables, and suggestions? I thought compatibility might be an issue but it seems like loads of people have this board with the 8800 without any problems.
I'd be grateful of any ideas. Just to repeat, works fine over S-Video.

Sounds like a faulty video card to me. Is it under warranty? send it back for a replacement.
Also can anyone point me in the right direction to locate the correct firmware, the full model no. is N8800GTS-640MX, i've checkedon the ECS website and they've removed this version and just left a useless manual.
I've mangaed to get hold of the f/w and flashed the card. Still experiencing the same problem, no video via the DVI outs, s-video is fine, the problem is the only svhs compatible screen i have is an old phillips lcd tv which looks really bad in anything over 640 x 480.
Any ideas or help on this would be much appreciated... i want to play Crysis!!
ok, well i did a lot more head scratching and more researh and i might've sorted it:-
i have an analogue monitor, does this help anyone? i'm using a dvi to vga converter and a vga cable to connect the two, now i just learned that there is more than one standard of dvi and looking at my adapter it seems to be a dvi-d adapter. does this mean i need a dvi-a (or dvi-i) to vga converter? i would assume it would, i've ordered one from ebay. i'll let you know if it works.
DVI to VGA converters are pretty reliable -- I've been using them for years over multiple video card replacements. You could try swapping your converter if you have another handy and you could also look for bent pins and check that the video cable is well-seated at the monitor end. Basically rule out the cable part of the connection being the problem.
I have a monitor with a DVI-D connector -- I think anyway. I spent $$ on different DVI cables (most fortunately were returnable) and never got it to work and to this day still use its VGA connector.
well, it works. it's a pity i had to figure it out on my own and nobody on the forum offered any helpful advice apart from CeruLucifus, thanks.
i hope i don't ever have any more problems, and if i do i won't be back here.
the 2 pieces of advice i got from the 'old hands' on here :
-it's faulty
-try the other connector
frankly, i think this is pathetic! i thought there would be one or two of you seasoned posters who would be able to offer incitful and helpful advice but i was wrong, maybe you are just jaded but it shouldn't be up to the newer members to at least attempt a reasoned solution.
i'd be interested to hear any comments about my opinions, particularly from the two people who were no help.
yeah, just that i was using a dvi-d to vga adapter connecting to an analogue monitor and it needed to be a dvi-a adapter to convert the signal from digital to analogue, easy when you know how.
Huh. I would never have thought of that. When you said "analogue", I just thought you meant a VGA connector. Wow, glad I didn't suggest anything else, it would have all been wrong.
