I was reading a bit on wikipedia about x86 and subsequently x86-64 and I was wondering if anyone with experience in ASM and/or someone well versed in the topics covered HERE could tell me which implementation of each company's 64 bit processor design is superior and why, disregarding things like QPI, cache sizes, clock speeds, and etc.

Honestly, from what I've read, whatever's superior will be the one that attracts the most OEM and customer support. These "format" wars always had nothing to do with technical capabilities (Just ask Betamax and HD-DVD).

Well I suppose that's true. Thanks for the input.
