Hello, I did something illegal and just admitted it in my first post. Maybe not the best way to start out. Maybe I should try again.

It depends on whether the computer has an accelerometer in it or not. Try dropping it on a hard surface floor (concrete works best) from about 5 feet up and gradually raise the height of the drop to about 15 feet. Record the height that the computer automatically turned itself off from sensing itself accelerating. If it turned off above 12 feet, then you can try to restore it's settings without reverting back to your original settings.
