Hi all

Just assembled my new computer: Motherboard gigabyte MA780-UD3H paired with P2 720 BE and 2Gb RAM (Kingston Hyperx).
Placed the Sata drive and connected all the cables (it's not my first buid).

The problem is that when I plug in my monitor to the D-Sub (onboard) it says "no device found"... So, I turn on the computer and I can't get image. Not even BIOS beep's... Is the mobo Dead? What do you think?

Thanks

No Post , can mean a couple of things, most often in my experience is the memory.

Remove everything beside, video memory and cpu, try to boot.

I had a couple of cases where a faulty Sata drive was causing no POST and also certain USB devices can lock the system too.

Ok. I finally got it: it was my new PSU - one of the CPU connectors was faulty... When I plugged the other, it booted nicelly. Tried it with a multimeter and no juice would come out from that connector.

Strangely, I never heard of this appening to others.

Sorry. I meant ''the cpu connector'' was faulty. The other was an old PSU that I used on my Athlon XP 2000+ (and I found that it delivers 16A on the 12v+ rail...)

But got the new PSU and everything is going ok now.
