I got a deal on some hyperX kingtons and they are 1800 however my motherboard only supports up to 1625 can i set it up in the bios so that the ram works at 1600 and have no conflicts?

Yes, you should have no issues running your RAM slower than it is rated.

dodonga, how we do know what your BIOS will allow without even knowing what motherboard maker and model you have? Or processor, etc. Or what other installed RAM you have now? You didn't mention it, but gotta assume this is DDR3 RAM.

Generally however, if you put in RAM that's faster than what your motherboard supports, it will step down to that lower setting. If you have much slower RAM already installed, it'll step down to that RAM's speed. That is, if you have 1066 RAM now and add 1800 RAM, it will run as 1066.

Yes, you should have no issues running your RAM slower than it is rated.
