Wired internet won't stay connected but wireless does. Help

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 with VIsta and wireless internet works fine. But when I go to a wired connection (which is what I have a work - where we are running 1 laptop and two desktops with vista and another laptop with xp just fine) it works for a few minutes and then stops working. Then I have to reset the IP and the router. It is horrible! PS I tried the wired connection at my house and it did the same thing. I also tried changing the cables, the position on the router and restarting the cable modem.

I have tried releasing and renewing the ipconfig,unchecking IPV 6, QOS Packet Scheduler, and both of the Link Layer Topology.
