HTPC and coolers

Hi, I'm thinking of building an htpc, the problem it's height will fit in my furniture quite tight (my furniture is 14 cm height and the HTPC case is 13 cm height more or less). You can add a fan in the top of the case, but since its too close to the furniture I don't know if it will be benefitial, or , on the contrary, it will worsen the heat.

But I can't find any info about it on the net, any suggestions on this product?

Ixium Sphere II, without the support it has (4 round short legs) it becomes around that height.

I had one in a unit i have since sold.
i didn't like it, i liked the concept the the actual product didn't seem to help..

I actually like the concept, no wonder it is so cheap if it's useless...
