Basically, I want to be able to run almost any game , if not all, at high settings. I have an 8800GT card factory overclocked and 4gb of memory. I don't know if it matters but I also have an X-FI Fatality sound card. My max resolution is only 1280x1024 so I did not think it was necessary to upgrade my card just yet.

I dont want to buy a more expensive card if it wont make much difference and I do not plan on overclocking. I also like the fact that the 710and 720 are AM3.

How much affect does the cpu have on gaming with high settings and which one should I purchase for my situation?

Thanks in advance

if you plan to oc 720 if not 710, with that res, u dont need a quad, u still might want to upgrade gcard if you plan to run crysis
