Getting to 4GHz on air

Hitting a stable 4GHz should not be an issue...and can be achieved with less expensive mobo and cooler...albeit with $3K to spend, money is not an issue, IMO you'd be better off getting a cheaper mobo and heatsink and sinking the difference into the gpu (5970 perhaps?) and three monitors.

I'm at a stable 24/7/365 4GHz (Prime95 8 threads and all 8 cores at 100% for 24+hours and temps never above 61C) with my d0 920 in an ASRock X58 Extreme and a Scythe Mugen RevB.

You have an unique i7-920
