Ok, so i've got a Dell Dimension 9100 and everything in it is stock except for the memory, which is now 4GB of RAM. Im looking to upgrade the Power Supply from the 375watt stock up to a 650 watt so i can hook up an XFX 250 GTS video card to it. Could someone please link me a 650 watt Power Supply that will successfully run in this all-stock Dimension 9100? Could you also say if the 250 GTS card would run in this if i got the 650 watt power supply? Thanks

The GTS 250 woud probably run on the stock psu, if it doesn't you still don't need anywhere near 650 watts, and almost any standard ATX unit will work as an upgrade.

ok cool thanks... would you mind linking some 500 watt or above PSU's that would be Dell Dimension 9100 compatible that i could purchase? and also are you sure that the gts 250 would run on the stock motherboard and stock basically everything?

You don't need "Dell compatible"

Your CPU will bottleneck that card, I'd recommend an HD4670.

i just need a good video card and power supply unit to hook up to my all stock Dell Dimension 9100 that will make it play CoD 4 nicely and WoW at about 60 fps.

+1 for theAnimal.

@OP: You have a very old Pentium D 2.8Ghz CPU correct? If so, at resolutions like 1600*1200 your CPU WILL be a bottleneck for most new games (Crysis,GTAIV,etc).

yes i do have a Pentium D 2.8Ghz computer... i only have a 17" monitor that runs 1280 x 1024 resolution maxed which is what i use.... The resolution and monitor size is fine for me, i just want a good video card and good Power supply that will bring up my WoW Fps to about 60 maxed and my call of duty 4 fps up quite a bit.

^In that case, you should be fine.

GTS250 only uses ~80W.
