Featuring the much lauded SandForce SF-1200 controller, at $249 for the 120GB model, they aren't what would be considered a "value" priced drive. Then again, as you'll see, the benchmarks numbers don't reflect value level performance either. If you've done some reading on SandForce-based drives, you already know that they are some of the best performing drives available and we expect the Phoenix Pro to be no different.

Day late and a Dollar short. -:)
Already bough it and installed it, love it, also got on sale. PS If you buy one remember Use intel's lates AHCI driver (ver 9) and NOT uSofts default AHCI driver. Need to down load the F6 driver and the full RST pkg.

when did this come out?

How is it compared to the OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal SSD?

Is this considered a G3 SSD?

Also on the NEWEGG site I see a lot of issues with this SSD......

Here is an anadtech review, Jul 10
Compares C300, used on SATA3 and SATA 2, also includes the vertex-2 (Almost idenitical to Pheonix Pro).

I posted a response to your question about Marvel Chipset (Asus U3S6) and trim.
Refer, Question on Asus U3S6 and marvel chipset and trim. Quote from below link
"I'd suggest reading this article (http://www.anandtech.com/show/2973/6...ntel-x58-p55/1) as it shows where the sata 3 has advantages and may keep you from junking the Asus card, the the marvel sata 3 controler should be used in ACHI mode with MS's driver to get trim support & the best performance, do not use the Marvel driver with the Asus card as you lose Trim support.
