At the time, I didn't know what OEM meant and I bought a 2TB HDD because it was less than $100. When I got it, I saw that it had no cable used to connect to the motherboard. Would my motherboard, an ASUS M4A87TD EVO, come with a cable? Or will I need to buy one of my own?

All you need is a SATA cable to connect your HDD to your motherboard and a SATA power connector from your PSU to the HDD. If you don't have a spare SATA cable with your motherboard, just pop into your local computer store (or order) one. Pretty straight forward. Good luck!!!
