Hello ,

I have a laptop here, a KAPOK i440BX Notebook with a 466Mhz Mendocino processor. The laptop uses the 370-socket and the older celerons work just fine on it ( gone from a 300A to 433 to 466 ), but the pentium III doesn't seem to work. I've read elsewhere that this could be a voltage problem.

Now I have this voltage button thingy on my mobo with 8 switches. I've taken a look in the notebooks manual but couldn't really get out any useful information since it says some thing about a 6 switches block and one with 2 switches.

The PIII I'm trying to use is a Philippines based one 700/256/100/1.65v. The bios says that the computer has a 440BX-ZX motherboard, I assume it's compatable with both of them? If not, the FSB is the problem and it won't work since my bios has the advanced processor settings locked.

The bios is a SystemSoft one, anyone have a clue how to unlock these settings? Alt / Ctrl + F1 doesn't work.

Thanks in Advance,

Tijmen
